Blog news!

Who knew?! In my 20’s I knew nothing about cooking. Lunch was processed meat with mayo on wheat bread with head lettuce. Not real imaginative. Now, I find myself in shear delight walking into a Whole Foods grocery store and being overwhelmed by the scents of fresh veggies, fruit, flowers, spices, and incense. In my culinary journey, I’m trying to make healthier choices in the food I buy and where I buy it.

My husband and I found a fabulous meat market down the street where everything is so fresh, it’s really like night and day.  Some days though, I need to escape, get out, and taste someone else’s food that can stir up my taste buds and maybe generate some ideas. Finding new food spots around town or while traveling is always high on our list. I do love going out and experiencing new food around town and during travels.

My journey into cooking has not always been successful, it’s taken a lot of work and let’s face it… time and motivation can be challenging. I have collected recipes and created recipes over the years, of course adding the Jilly touch to share with family and friends. Let’s get to experimenting! I’m glad you’re on this journey with me.

What meals were you making in your 20’s?
